Our (good and bad) experiences with group coaching 🌻✨

Dear Reader,

As the three of us (Ruth, Kathleen, and Rochana) have been working on our individual businesses over the years, we've participated in group coaching, masterminds, communities of practice, women's circles, and the list goes on.

Nothing existed specifically for flower essence practitioners, so we had to make do with what we could find.

Some groups were more valuable than others, and with the not-so-great experiences we learned what we didn't like:

❌ Traditional marketing advice that was too manipulative and "icky".

❌ Heart-centered marketing advice that was authentic but missed the mark because the group also promoted spiritual practices that weren't our cup of tea.

❌ Groups whose ultimate purpose was to sell something β€” a book, a marketing platform, a high-ticket cookie-cutter program, etc.

And, none of these groups knew anything about flower essences or the practice of being a flower essence practitioner or working with flower essence clients. They just weren't our people.

But, we also found groups that really helped us! We discovered the power of working on our business in a group setting.

You may ask, why even join a group for this stuff? Why not just take a class, or get 1-1 mentoring?

These are always options!

  • Business courses are a fantastic way to increase your general knowledge, but many have the same issues as above, plus they don't answer your specific questions. They also take extreme levels of self-motivation and lots of time to get through.
  • 1-1 coaching (if you find the right coach) is great for helping to address your specific, known problems and giving you targeted advice. But what you may miss out on is the contextual learning that happens when you hear others talk about their challenges and what they did to solve them. There's no peer support, no group inspiration, and a business coach wouldn't be able to help you with flower essence client cases or challenges.

The power and magic of groups

Ruth's Experience

When I made the huge move of bringing my Practice to English-speaking audiences after having been successful in Brazil, being part of a community of people who were also working on building their businesses in a heart-centered and authentic way was of immense value to me.

I participated in these community spaces for five years, until my work was truly thriving. I can’t say enough about the difference it's made not having to do it alone. The extra benefit was making friends whom I trust and have stayed connected with ever since!

Kathleen's Experience

When I first joined a Mastermind group, I thought the value would be the one-on-one time with the facilitator who would help me build my business. While this focused time was indeed valuable, I was surprised at how much I learned from the experiences of the other women in the group.

Many had already solved similar challenges I was facing. I benefited from witnessing how they were moving their businesses forward and heard strategies and ideas I had not known about or considered before.

Rochana's Experience

The groups that have helped me the most were the ones in which the participants shared a common bond and had similar goals, challenges, and values.

Hearing what others are working with is always illuminating because you don't know what you don't know until you hear someone else verbalize it.

The feeling of being "in this together" makes the often difficult work of building a business so much more doable.

What's different about our group?

With the Professional Practice Mentoring Group, we're here to nurture you and facilitate your growth through an online community space and live group coaching meetings.

We want flower essence practitioners to have support, to be resourced, and to find their people! To have the benefits of group experience without all the trial and error that we went through.

Not only is this a business mentoring group for flower essence practitioners, but it's also a flower essence client case mentoring group. There's really nothing else out there like this!

Dear animal lovers 🐾 When I started working with animals and flower essences back in 2008, I often felt like I was figuring it out alone. There weren't many books about using flower essences with animals, and they rarely covered more than the Bach Flowers. The information on essences was primarily human-focused, and the animal behavior world had little awareness of vibrational medicine. I had some clues from my training, a few ideas, and my deep love for the animals in my care β€” but very few...

Hi Reader, You know how to work with flower essences. You've done the training. You understand the plants, the patterns, the subtle art of matching essence to person. You can sit with a client and sense what they need. The work itself, the actual flower essence work, that part feels right. What doesn't always feel right is everything around it. 🌻 How do you explain what you do to someone who's never heard of flower essence therapy? 🌻 How do you find the people who need what you offer without...

Reader, Client work has a way of humbling even the most experienced practitioners. Not because we don't know enough, though there is always more to learn. But because every client is a living, complex human being whose needs don't always map neatly onto what we studied. A case that seemed straightforward reveals unexpected layers. An essence that should fit perfectly doesn't land the way we anticipated. A client returns with something we haven't encountered before and we find ourselves...
