Ancestral and Collective Trauma

In this episode, Rochana and Kathleen explore neurodiversity and the application of Bach flowers as a balancing, stress-reducing complementary therapy for people with Autism, ADHD, and other forms of neurodivergence.
We reframe some of the traditional, sometimes judgmental-sounding, Bach flower descriptions into a more modern, neuro-affirming framework that supports lived experience rather than treating brain differences as problems or disorders.
Rochana brings in her story as a late-diagnosed "AuDHD" woman as we discuss Heather, Pine, Hornbeam, Elm, Olive, and Agrimony in the context of common neurodivergent challenges such as executive functioning, sensory overwhelm, burnout, masking, self-focus, and shame.
The Flower Essence Podcast is hosted by Rochana and Kathleen, and is available in all the places you listen to podcasts. You can also watch the recording on YouTube, and read the show notes on the podcast website.

Dear Reader, You may already know Holly. You may have reached for Pine dozens of times. Clematis and Honeysuckle may have been sitting in your kit for years. So why spend two hours with each pair? Because one of the things weβve learned from decades of working with flower essences is that familiarity can sometimes hide as much as it reveals. We learn the indications. We recognize the patterns. We develop our shorthand. And then a plant, a client, or a conversation shows us something we hadnβt...

Hello there Reader, Someone seems disengaged from their life. Theyβre distracted, daydreaming, not fully present. Clematis or Honeysuckle? On paper, the two can sound quite similar. Even the plants have something in common: both are scrambling, climbing types. But look more closely, and theyβre moving in very different directions. πΏ With Clematis, the person isnβt fully here because theyβreβ¦ somewhere else. Unfocused, floating, not quite bringing their full presence into physical reality. πΈ...
