Bach flowers are boring? 🤔

I used to think so

Rochana here — and I have a confession to make.

When I began working with flower essences, I wasn't attracted to the Bach remedies.

How could I think this?

My understanding of them was only pamphlet-level deep, and the language describing their use seemed a bit...boring and outdated.

I was an herbalist doing shamanic plant journeys and focused on working with plants that were either medicinal or found in my surrounding ecosystem in Northern California.

I considered taking a course on the Bach flowers, but to be completely honest, the Bach plants just didn't inspire me at that time.

Truth be told, I was suspicious of teachings from a 20th century white European male who "discovered" medicine from flowers. I wanted to learn ancient plant medicine from original indigenous sources and make my own conclusions, learning from the plants themselves.

What I didn't know

I didn't know enough to appreciate the brilliance of what Dr. Edward Bach was trying to do — melding ancient alchemical concepts with cutting-edge practices inspired by homeopathy — in order to create a plant medicine that was safe and accessible for anybody to make or use. A medicine for the people.

I also didn't realize how versatile the Bach flowers were for modern everyday use and how foundational they were in a Flower Essence Therapy practice.

I didn’t know enough to give the Bach flowers the reverence and respect they deserve.

My aha moment

When Kathleen and I started the podcast in 2019 and we began having deep conversations about the essences, I quickly realized what a gap there was in my education and experience! So I promptly dove into all of the available books, teachings, and resources from Julian Barnard, the Flower Essence Society, and many others.

I came to fully embrace the Bach flowers and now I can’t imagine not having them.

Bridging the gap

At the School for Flower Essence Studies, we’ve been offering advanced Bach flower studies for practitioners for several years. Yet, students newer to the modality have been asking for a place to begin — without the restrictions of the established Bach flower training levels.

That’s why we’re so excited about our new Bach Flower Foundations certificate course, and we’ve extended our "Early Bird" pricing to remain through the course open date, August 29th.

Whether you want to DIY flower essences for yourself or ultimately become a professional Bach Flower Practitioner — this course is the foundational training you need.

⏳ Early Bird registration extended! Ends August 29th

⏱️ Course opens for self-directed study August 29th

📅 Live Sessions begin September 12th

Many are just the same publicly available information that's been around for decades, often repeated, and now multiplying at lightening speed with books and courses being spit out by AI. How we're different We went beyond the conventional...
